A big step for Gope
Since 16 June 2025, the new dental practice in Gope is officially open for business. All formalities with the Ministry of Health and the district have been successfully completed. The people of the region now are provided with a permanent, completely new dental offering.
A dentist for the mountains
Dentist Mr Shiriram Yadapa is already in full activity. We were able to meet him in person at the opening of the temporary practice in April. He comes from Terai in southern Nepal and is now working as a state-employed dentist for Gope. Pivotal for his decision to come to the remote mountain region were our plans: a modern dental practice on the upper floor of the health centre and free accommodation directly on site.
Appointments instead of queues
The rush is great. Many people travel from far away to be treated. The health committee is faced with the challenge of organising the practice efficiently. Fixed appointments are now allocated to avoid long and fruitless journeys.
More space for health
The decision to add for the practice another storey onto the existing building has proven to be both right and necessary. The maternity and health centre below can now use more space for its work again.
Further information on the project can be found in the corresponding update from December, where we presented the concept for the first time.
