After the severe earthquakes in Nepal in April and May 2015, Gecotec e.V. together with Ram Kumar Tamang (NHEFoN) decided to rebuild a primary school in the most affected region of Langtang. The success of this first building project, that was carried out together with the population, has led to subsequent projects aimed at the further development and strengthening of essential structures in the region.

The constant involvement of the local population in the planning and implementation of the projects is a central aspect of our construction projects. The consideration of cultural specialties is another particular concern of ours. Also, we pay attention to the use of local building materials and an ecological, but also solid and earthquake-proof construction method.
