One Floor Higher

Dental care has been possible in Gope, Solukhumbu, since the summer of 2025 - initially as a provisional arrangement within the existing maternity and health station. What began then as a first, urgently needed step has now found its architectural conclusion: on April 9th, 2026, the new upper floor of the health station was officially inaugurated. It was built specifically to give the dental clinic a permanent home.

A Ceremonial Inauguration

After four and a half months of construction, the ceremony had the setting that such a moment deserves. Local dignitaries, representatives of the Solukhumbu district, and the team from NHEFoN Nepal were present, together with many residents from Gope and the surrounding villages.

What the New Building Offers

The clinic on the upper floor is equipped with a modern dental chair, digital X-ray technology, and everything needed for sound basic dental care. By the move upstairs the maternity and health station below simultaneously gains more space for its work. The district covers the dentist’s salary - an important commitment that secures the clinic’s long-term operation.

A Joint Step Forward

This moment was only possible through the efforts of many. The team from NHEFoN Nepal accompanied the construction phase with great dedication. The Solukhumbu district bears responsibility for ongoing operations. And the support from afar - through your donations and your trust - laid the foundation.
