A Corona school year passes - thank you for your support!

Dear sponsors and supporters,

Namaste.

Despite a very difficult Corona school year 2020-2021, Nepal has managed to hold the annual final exams. Lack of technical tools such as laptops, wifi and smartphones made it difficult for children and students to work through the required content. There is no government support in Nepal as it can be made available in Germany. School meals were also cancelled for many months.

However, thanks to your donations, we were able to support the families in feeding the children and youths.

Despite the incredibly difficult circumstances, schools as well as universities, technical schools and especially the students themselves made the best of the Corona situation.

Dhanyabaad!
Dankeschön!
Thank you!

Saying goodbye from our school and study project:
Susmita, Ashmita, Sanjay, Prabin, Gyhanu Bhadur, Roman, Sristina and Mukesh

Susmita has completed her training as a medical assistant and will find work in the medical field after a mandatory internship.

Ashmita has completed her training as a nurse and will work in a hospital in Kathmandu.

Sanjay has completed grade 12. His future plans are still open.

Prabin has completed grade 12. His future plans are not clear yet.

Ghyanu Bhadur has completed his degree as “Bachelor of Major English”. He will be running a secondary school near Betang.

Roman will move back with his mother to their home village in eastern Nepal. The mother was not able to establish a livelihood in Kathmandu. Roman will be able to attend a government school in his new home.

Srstina has completed grade 12 and will apply for a scholarship with us.

Mukesh has completed his course as “Bachelor of Business Studies” and will join the police in the higher service.

All graduates can apply to Gecotec e.V. via NHEFoN for a scholarship for training or studies.

We wish all children and young adults who leave our project a good way ahead and that they can lead a self-determined and good life in future, not depending on financial support.

Once again, we would like to thank all our supporters for their many years of help.

However, we are all aware that without Maya and Ram Tamang from NHEFoN this individualized and consistent support of the children and youths would not be possible.

Best wishes,
Anne Peter, president Gecotec e.V. Germany
Elisabeth Schwery-Kinzler, president NB&G Switzerland
Ram and Maya Kumar Tamang, NHEFoN Nepal
