School Reconstruction Langtang

Things get moving - First progress with school building in Bhorle!

Dear godparents, dear supporters,

the village community, the school committee and the parents have enthusiastically agreed to our project to rebuild the destroyed primary school in Bhorle jointly with the population! The parents have committed to invest into the school building per family at least two days of work free of charge. The teachers and the population will as soon as possible prepare an interim location for the school, so that children can somehow be taught during the building phase.

As though people had not yet had enough to cope with the consequences of the earthquake, the rain season this year is particularly heavy. The further building process always also depends on the powers of nature - let us hope for the best.

According to the newest regulations, appliccable from mid-September, four authorities have to be included into the entire process of the approval phase for the building. Ram will contact in advance all offices which are to be involved.

On 10/23/2015 we will fly to Nepal and will start the project in Bhorle jointly with the experts from EcoSur and Ram from NHEFoN - the flights to Kathmandu have been booked. How things will have gone on there, you will find out on this internet page in future updates.

The funding to build the school has almost been secured. We will be very delighted by further donations. You can be assured that even the last cent will be spent on the emerging school.

Namaste,
best regards,

Anne Peter

Rams News - Mail of 9/14/2015

Dear Didi Anne,
Good Morning!

I am just back from Langtang Village, last night and everything OK at Bhorle village. I stayed there for 3 days and It’s was very bad weather over there. It’s not possible to contact internet because of weather. Every day raining. I talked with everyone with the village communities (local people) and school community with all the teachers, students and parents. We had a big meeting with everyone and talked everything on details. I told everyone about our project on details and everyone seems very happy with it. Also explained how we are going to start the construction work and I have convinced everyone. So, every family will be helping to work during the construction period for 2 days at least.

Well, currently still it’s raining there every day so we cannot start the construction so, on 15th Oct they will make a new place (temporary) for the children for 4 months then we can start the construction by taking out the stones. So, taking out this stones might take lot of time because we have to make a plain ground then only we can start the fundamental base of building. On the village there is lots of stones, so there won’t be any problems for building walls but the main problem is with the sand because there is no sand in that area so, we have to take sand from the place called Trisuli and there is little problems with woods as well so, we need to take this woods furniture and doors from Trisuli only. The other building equipment like cement, steel we have to take from Trisuli if we get on cheap price otherwise we have to take it from Kathmandu only.

Well, I have made an agreement with the school communities and on the agreement at least 6 rooms and 2 toilets for the school.

This much for today!! If you think the above plan is OK or needed changes then let me know and also I have attached some pictures of school during my visit to Langtang Village. Thank you!!

My Warm Wishes to you,
Yours Bhai,

Ram and Maya
