Dear supporters,

we are once again looking at the construction site in Kimalung with pleasure. In recent weeks, the building has clearly taken shape and significant parts of the interior work, among other things, have been completed. The local representatives are convinced as well.

January 29th

The interior work begins. Water pipes are being laid and the kitchenette is being prepared.

On the outside area, the visitors’ toilet is being built. Toilets and showers for the staff are also developing.

The weather seems to mean well with us.

February 2nd

…and we carry on in the outdoor area!

February 5th

The plasterers have arrived!

The foreman looks after the building site while Ram is ordering more materials in Kathmandu and will take them back to Kimalung. He’ll be back in three days.

Also: the production of a fitted kitchen in the Himalayas, without much equipment from the DIY store. The staff and patients will be delighted. The doors are also carefully made from local wood by the local carpenter.

February 9th

High-ranking visitors on our construction site. The head of the district and the mayor could hardly believe that the clinic was being built by NHEFoN with such quality and speed.

February 14th

The kitchen is taking shape - the doors have been completed.

February 18th and 20th

The interior work is progressing: the tiles have been laid.

The forecourt is being prepared so that it can soon be concreted. The material for the base is also sourced directly from the surrounding area and is waste from the construction of the dry stone walls.

Over the next few days, the construction site will be largely dormant because the concrete has to dry.

March 5th

The tiling work has been completed, the kitchen units have been installed and the forecourt is almost finished.

The painters will be arriving tomorrow - experienced craftsmen from Bhorle who have already helped us with three buildings. They will also be showing interested people in Kimalung new techniques.
